Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) – The Anaheim Ducks signed defenseman Mathieu Carle to a one-year contract Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Carle was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Mark Mitera on Friday.

The 23-year-old Carle was a second-round pick in the 2006 NHL draft by Montreal and has appeared in just three NHL games — all in 2009.

He played for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League last season, posting 11 goals and 18 assists in 68 contests.
