Peng – Schiavone / by de1sas
I know Peng is having a very good year, but it seems that Schiavone is right in time in form to defend her title at Roland Garros. Im not saying shell win it again, cause I think she wont, but shes in form and go deep in this tournament. Peng has reached a lot of semi-finals and quarter-finals this year, but hasnt played superbly on red clay. Losses in the first rounds of Madrid and Rome, did get to the final in Brussels, only interesting win was over Zvonareva, but she isnt that solid on clay. Schiavone wasnt great either so far, but improving every tournament and ready for a good run here. As I said, I dont see her winning, but the way shes playing a semi-final or something should be within her reach, especially given the draw. H2H is tied at 2-2, 1-1 all this year, with Peng winning in february on hardcourt in Dubai and Schiavone winning a few weeks ago in Madrid on clay (7-5, 7-6). I feel like Schiavone is playing much better then the previous tournaments, so I think this one will be a little easier. Probably not a beating like 6-1, 6-1; but in her current form Schiavone should be able to take it in 2 sets with a bit of a margin, like 6-3, 6-4. Good Luck! Published May-27-2011, 09:58 CET
