The huge favorite to win the 2011 British Open, Rory McIlroy, was really struggling out on the Royal St. Georges today during round 3. He started out with bogeys on the first and third hole and it all went downhill from there really. After hitting the tee shot out of bounds on the Par 5 14th he made a double bogey which meant he is definitely out of contention this year. The weather during round 3 was awful for the early starters but started to calm down around 16:00 which should give the late starters a huge advantage.
Rory McIlroy ended up carding a 74 for +4 in total over the tournament while the leader (Darren Clarke) is currently parked at -4.

Miami of Ohio had a dream season last year, going 10-4 following 2009’s 1-11 campaign. They replaced head coach Mike Haywood with alumnus Don Treadwell and will look to keep the momentum from last season’s turnaround with veterans in both coordinator spots.

Clemson fans are passionate, and they hate losing to rival South Carolina. Last seasons embarrassing 29-7 home loss to the Gamecocks was Clemsons third loss in the last five meetings and its second in the last three meetings at home.
This indicates the balance of power in the state may be shifting. Prior to 2006, Clemson had won eight of nine matchups against the Gamecocks.
If Dabo Swinney wants to enjoy a nice tenure at Clemson, he better find a way to beat South Carolina.
Clemson is coming off an up and down 6-7 season that ended with a 31-26 loss to South Florida in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
