Did UAB has had three straight losing seasons, but this is definitely a team that appears to be headed in the right direction.
The offense was much more dangerous in 2010. The defense wasn’t good last year, but former Memphis coach Tommy West was brought in during the offseason to help build up the defense for the Blazers.
UAB returns 16 starters from a team that was clearly playing better at the end of 2010.
The offense piled up more than 5,000 yards of total offense last year, and they should be just as good this season.
Can the defense step up and help this team reach a bowl game?
Bryan Ellis is a very good signal caller for the Blazers. E

Manxman Mark Cavendish has continued his amazing run of winning Tour de France sprints this year with a thrilling victory in both the 5th and 7th stages. The sprinter, who is going after the coveted Green Jersey this year, has now won a total of 17 stages since he began the tour placing him in equal 8th place in the table of most stage wins of all time.

With the exciting tour continuing, there has been an unprecedented amount of crashes! Her

It’s been another dream year for the Phillies. Three of the team’s starting pitchers are on this years National League All-Star team, including Saturday’s starter, Cliff Lee.
While having somewhat of an up and down season, he has performed very nicely since leaving the Texas Rangers this past off-season.
The lofty Lee extended his scoreless innings streak to 34 the second longest in franchise historybefore giving up a run in the third in Sundays 7-4 loss to Toronto. Lee, who went 5-0 with an 0.21 ERA in five June starts, had not lost since May 31 at Washington and came in having pitched three consecutive shutouts, before somehow managing to surrender a season-worst seven runs and 10 hits in 7 1-3 innings of work.
He has gone 9-6 this season with a four complete game shutouts. Those s

In any sport, the betting odds change significantly when replacements fill in for the starters. It is not often the case when a team has better odds after they replace starters, but that may end up being the situation with the American League All-Star team. The starters and reserves were announced last weekend for the All-Star game, and several players were snubbed because of the fan voting. Most notably, Adrian Beltre and Asdrubal Cabrera were left off the American League team because of the selections of New York Yankees teammates Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. On Friday, both Jeter and Rodriguez pulled out of the game, citing precaution in dealing with injuries sustained in the first half.

The NFL lockout may still be underway right now with no telling when it could end and when we might see professional football being played in this country once again. Despite the fact that teams aren’t allowed to talk to their players or pending free agents around the league, that hasn’t stopped the rumors flying around about big-name free agents heading elsewhere before next season.
The one big-name defensive player that seems to be getting more attention than any other during the offseason/lockout is Oakland Raiders lockdown corner Nnamdi Asomugha. Wit
