2010 was a difficult year for coach Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns. Texas had posted nine consecutive 10-win campaigns until it fell to 5-7 last year.
The losing season, however, is hardly noticeable when looking at Browns 133-34 record in his 13 seasons in Austin. These numbers suggest the wins will start piling up again soon enough. There is reason, however, for a little bit of skepticism.
The coaching staff has been blown up in the wake of last years results. Five assistants, including 13-year offensive coordinator Greg Davis, have been replaced.

Earlier this week, sports betting enthusiasts handicapping the MLB were able to review the 2011 All Star rosters, for the American and National Leagues. To say this year’s baseball betting All Star teams are controversial would be putting it lightly. With roughly a week to go until the All Star game, we feel it is safe to say, that the stars left off this year’s teams have left a foul taste in fans and experts mouths alike.

The Miami Heat came into this past NBA regular season with a cocking attitude and a sense of entitlement. With LeBron James and Chris Bosh playing alongside perennial All-Star Dwyane Wade in South Beach, the rest of the league took notice and were terrified of just how good this team could be.
The Heat were confident that they could win two, three, four, five and seven titles with their new Big Three, but in their first season together they failed to accomplish their goal of winning an NBA title. Obviously, with three superstars on the same team, the Miami Heat was held to a different standard, but couldn’t live up to the hype.
Even though they were unable to win an NBA title in their first season together in South Beach, the Heat did just come two games short of lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy and getting the best of the veteran Dallas Mavericks. Wit

June turned out to be a very good month in the end and much better than I expected. It was the best June Ive had for a few years. How useful to have a decent send off as it were, given the news from last week.
The highlight was obviously Royal Ascot and that contributed the bulk of things for the month. As I have done for a little while, I used both exchanges during Ascot week and this has put me in good shape for the future.
From here on in I dont think there is much point in posting up individual P&Ls or results for the month. Obviously a headline P&L will be very different from an underlying P&L now and my activities will change, as does my incentive. There is still plenty of incentive for somebody to earn £250k if they only pay 20% of that in fees. B

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – Cliff Pennington’s errant throw on a possible double-play grounder allowed Franklin Gutierrez to score the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th frame as Seattle downed Oakland, 4-2, in the continuation of a three-game set at the Coliseum.
A good throw may not have completed the double play, but it wouldn’t have scored Gutierrez. However, with Ichiro Suzuki bearing down on Pennington, his throw sailed well down the right-field line to allow the go-ahead run to score. Adam Kennedy’s subsequent run-scoring double capped the scoring.
Brandon League (1-4) blew the save but picked up the victory, while Jamey Wright notched his first save.
