Sporting predictions by Chris Clegg – Putting your money where your mouth is!
We’re gonna score ONE more than you
Has the lack of fire-power scuppered England’s chances in the World Cup?
Well, it has to be said that Wednesday was a great day for England fans everywhere. We did it. As Fat Les’s inimitable words echoed around over 10 million English houses, pubs and streets at 3pm on Wednesday afternoon: ‘We’re gonna score one more than you…ENGLAND!” Defoe et al did not disappoint; they did indeed score one more than the team ranked seventeen places below them in the world rankings; indeed the smallest country in the World Cup finals. You have to go back more than 10 years for the last time Newcastle United beat Manchester United in the Premier League and the odds look stacked against the Magpies again at Old Trafford this weekend.
Still winning while not playing well – United roll on
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side haven’t conceded a goal in their last three league games and have recorded three 1-0 wins in succession. He also threw his 136th, 137th, 138th and 139th, and he got to the end zone nine times in a 73-34 win over Rice. Keenum now holds the Bowl Subdivision career records for touchdown passes with 144, and for passing yards, at 17,537. Keenum passed for 407 yards and 2 more touchdowns in a 56-13 victory over Alabama-Birmingham on November 5th. 5. The

The Chicago Blackhawks have quietly climbed to the very top of theNHLstandings with 25 points. The Blackhawks had a tough year last season because of the players lost to the post-Cup fire sale. It took a while for the team to adjust, and it also took time to find the right answers at key positions. Last season, the Blackhawks brought in former Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco to replace Antti Niemi who went to the San Jose Sharks. Turco was a bomb and retired when the season ended. The solution for the Blackhawks in goal was on the roster the entire time and it was Corey Crawford.
